Thea 2: The Shattering, innovative Slavic strategy debuts on Steam Early Access today

November 30, 2018 – MuHa Games: Polish-British indie developer and creator of Thea: The Awakening, the critically well-received 4x strategy, RPG, survival and card game hybrid, has launched its long-awaited sequel, Thea 2: The Shattering, today via Steam Early Access. The Early Access version provides players with the core game experience, including co-op multiplayer.

Thea 2: The Shattering builds on the best and most distinctive elements of the first Thea, providing more content, enriched and much enhanced gameplay, as well as new and innovative ideas. Fans of deep strategy will have access to hours of challenging entertainment, providing the perfect starter to the full game’s main course — which should be served up long before the summer of 2019 is with us.

Early Access includes all the core game mechanics: including exploration, battles, resource gathering, research and crafting. The main quest and a number of side quests will be fully playable. Fans of co-operative play will be pleased to know that co-op modes have also made it into the Early Access build.

The press kit for Thea 2: The Shattering can be found here: https://www.igdb.com/games/thea-2-the-shattering/presskit

Watch the gameplay trailer below.

Thea 2: The Shattering once again offers a unique blend of 4X turn strategy, RPG, survival — and an original card game with a dark fantasy setting — all inspired by Slavic mythology and culture. Players take on the role of gods, overseeing the actions of their tribe of followers, while navigating a procedurally-generated environment.

They will decide on their favoured play style and build on it during the adventure: they may wish to simply explore the world as nomads, take on all comers as a warlord-led army, or master the art of diplomacy; building alliances with other factions and trying to ensure the peaceful survival of their worshippers. An atmospheric musical score and moody visuals provide a perfect accompaniment to a carefully crafted Slavic narrative.

The Early Access version of Thea 2: The Shattering is available to buy on Steam now at prices 24.99 USD/ 19.99 GBP/ 21.99 EUR.

Dual Universe initiates First Contact with Alpha launch

Thursday 29th November 2018, Paris, France – Novaquark, the French studio behind the hugely ambitious PC MMORPG, today announces that Dual Universe has entered its Alpha Stage. This marks the civilization building MMO’s biggest development milestone since its Kickstarter in 2016, offering a truly massive content update.

Dual Universe is a continuous, single-shard sandbox MMORPG, which takes place in vast, fully editable sci-fi universe. It focuses on emergent gameplay with player-driven economy, politics, trade and warfare.

This significant milestone at Alpha welcomes a plethora of fundamental refinements and opportunities, adding to the game’s already impressive roster of features:

World Building: terraform the world and build your own secret base, one voxel at a time
Create and Save designs: build your own bases and vehicles with voxels. Save designs of what you build by making blueprints
Explore and Harvest: go prospecting to find precious minerals. Sell at the NPC market to buy components for your constructs
Craft your components: produce the interactive components you need for your bases and ships.
Built upon four key pillars - Explore, Build, Trade, Conquer - Dual Universe’s Alpha 1 brings the first three facets of this massive sci-fi sandbox to life, allowing players to explore and build almost anything they can imagine. From subterranean bases and futuristic cityscapes, to spaceships capable of interstellar travel and planet-bound hovercraft, not even the sky’s the limit. Plus, with the launch of Alpha 1, players have a lot more room to create. Thanks to the dev team’s terraforming efforts, Alioth, the game’s starting planet, has reached an area size close to the one of real life Great Britain, and that’s only the first planet.

Underpinning the game is Dual Universe’s proprietary technology, which allows millions of players to interact across one continuous shard, meaning that players are not separated by servers, instances or loading time.

“With feedback from over 4,000 players, our pre-alpha stage was incredibly successful, and we’re thrilled that we have a core community of players who are as passionate about the game as we are. Whilst we’re still unveiling our alpha at this stage, we’re confident that with our community we’ll continue to grow the game into something truly unique in the MMORPG market,” said JC Bailie, Novaquark CEO.

In order to match the words to the vision, Novaquark announced that all Kickstarter backers no matter their amount of pledge will also be able to join the Alpha allowing the game population to reach over 11.000 players before the end of the year.

While the Alpha 1 launch is the biggest milestone for Dual Universe, this is only the beginning of the journey. The team shared their vision for the Alpha & Beta development.

Due to launch in 2020, players can initiate first contact and join in the Alpha stage by supporting the game on the Dual Universe website: https://www.dualthegame.com/en/
