Heavy Metal Machines heads ‘Into The Abyss’ with Metal Pass Season Two

Florianopolis, Brazil - November 21, 2018 - Heavy Metal Machines, the post-apocalyptic car-combat MOBA, has received a new update today featuring not only a brand new character, but also a new season of content themed around the Cthulhu Mythos and the abyssal creations of H.P. Lovecraft.

Entering the arena is the Stargazer, a vehicle which includes weapons such as the Orbital Beam, Life Support System Warp and Entangle. These teleport options alongside the ability to attach to other vehicles, create new strategies and game mechanics which are not found in other vehicles, making it a formidable and flexible support character. Those who delve a little deeper into the lore behind Stargazer will find that it’s pilot is Jada Jemison, a character who’s creation was inspired by the first African-American astronaut, Mae Carol Jemison.

“Although Heavy Metal Machines only left closed beta in September, it is important to us that the game remains fresh and we introduce new mechanics and strategies for our loyal community” Said Eros Carvalho, Head of Studio and Development for Hoplon. “We’re constantly looking for feedback from both our new and veteran players on what we can introduce to improve the game. J. J and our season two content are a culmination of a close relationship with our players, and we can’t wait for them to get their hand on this fantastic new content.”

First introduced in September, ‘Metal Pass’ offers players a progression system which unlocks cosmetic rewards through weekly missions and challenges. Season Two - “Into TheAbyss” – has been inspired by H. P. Lovecraft’s creations. All the cosmetic items designed for the season are themed after abyssal creatures, ocean animals and water sports capturing the essence of the iconic Cthulhu Mythos.

Tatiana Moreira, Head of Marketing and Publishing, commented: “Season Two represents a huge milestone for us at Hoplon. Our community is at the heart of what we do with Heavy Machine Machines, they are the most important asset have and their feedback is crucial to the success of our game.”

It’s murder most Gielinor, as RuneScape launches time-travelling murder mystery ‘The Needle Skips’

November 2018, Cambridge, UK – RuneScape has today launched a new murder mystery, The Needle Skips, that sees players twist through time in a bid to uncover the truth behind the dastardly crime. First announced last month at RuneFest 2018, The Needle Skips is the latest in a long tradition of innovative RuneScape murder mystery quests released over the past 17 years.

Beginning at a stone monument, a lone figure lying dead at its base, and a single word apparently scrawled in blood, it follows a family living locally to the needle-shaped monument that – thanks to its original use by the elder gods – is enveloped in a time bubble. As players interact with the monument they are drawn deeper into the mystery and loop through time to find out the answers, uncovering clue words and through their investigation, they will unlock glimpses of the past in a bid to find the truth and save those trapped in the bubble.

The release of The Needle Skips also marks the 400th quest point available to players of the game. The points, which are unlocked as adventurers complete the various 221 quests in RuneScape, unlock rewards and allow access to further quests.

Jamie Brooks, Producer, RuneScape, said:

“We’ve enjoyed working on murder mysteries in the past, especially One Piercing Note, and The Needle Skips provides a fresh and innovative take for RuneScape players to put their investigative minds to the test. The use of audio and voiceover dialogue as a gameplay mechanic in the quest really sets it apart from our previous murder mysteries. What started as an internal game jam project has developed into an engaging story that we hope our community will lap up as they unpeel the story.”

The release of RuneScape’s latest adventure comes as Jagex launches this year’s Premier Club https://www.runescape.com/premier-club, the best value opportunity for RuneScape players to secure up to 12 months of discounted membership to both RuneScape and Old School RuneScape, as well as rewards such as an exclusive Valkyrie outfit, and an artefact that offers additional benefits.

Ride 3 - Race at 60 FPS | PS4 Pro

Here’s why developers at Milestone strived to reach 60 FPS on PS4 PRO for their motorbike racer. And the result looks wonderful.

If your father owned a motorcycle when you were a little kid, chances are that you went absolutely crazy with excitement when riding on the back of his bike, amazed by the wonders of the world passing by at full speed. And if you followed his footsteps by being a biker yourself, you know one thing: that sense of wonder has not changed a single bit now that you’re an adult.

And while building RIDE 3, we knew one thing: we had to find a way to recreate that very same sense of wonder in the game. Luckily enough, PS4 PRO and Xbox One X made our life easy (well, a bit easier, at least), since they’re the perfect platform to run the game at 60 frames per second. Have a look at it yourself.
